St. Thomas played host to Coe Brown on a sunny summer afternoon. The Saints took the field with Neil Hallock in the net, The line of defense in front of Hallock were TJ Tetreault, Noah Schwaegerle, and Evan Surprenant. Tri-Captain David Ham and Jon Kiskinis were in at defensive midfield. Tri-Captains Ed Conroy and Jeff King took the center midfield with Connor Bailey and Andrew Civiello on the outside and Jon Nartiff at the top.
The St. Thomas attack jumped out from the start and was all pressure on the Bears.
Conner Kennedy and Joe Duplisea went in at Outside midfield and Bryan King went in as Striker.
St. Thomas drew first blood at 18:14 when the ball was worked up through the midfield. Bryan King made the final pass to Jeff King who slammed it by the Bears keeper.
Brian Ellis and Jacob Ham went in at outside midfield.
Aaron Dubois and Tom Griffiths went in at Defense.
Tapley Tayler went in
at Striker.
Xavier Quinn subbed in at Midfield.
The Saints continued to keep pressure on with fresh legs.
Sebastian Olsen and Jon Douglass went in at outside midfield to keep the pressure up.
The Saints were up 1-0 at halftime.
The Second half started again with St. Thomas applying pressure on Coe Brown
Ed Conroy worked the ball through the center of the defense and sent a great pass to Jon Nartiff who went in on the Coe Brown Keeper banging home the goal at 45:52.
Coe Brown was awarded a penalty kick at 49:70 to make the
score 2-1
(I'm still waiting on the explanation of that call)
56:39 Brian King worked the ball into the bears zone and fired a shot that hit the post bouncing out in front of Jeff king who ran on to it and buried it into the net to put the Saints up 3-1.
Saint Thomas continued to disrupt the Bears possession and attack.
Sebastian Olsen and Jon Sweeney went in at outside midfield.
Coe Brown scored a late goal at 71:03 to make it 3-2
77:25 Coe Brown scored to tie up the game at 3-3.
The game ended in a 3-3 tie in regulation.
The teams went into Overtime.
Jon Nartiff almost scored to win the overtime but the Coe Brown defender just got a knee in for the block.
Coe Brown scored off a direct kick at 87:20 as a result of a foul called about 30 yards out.
Players consol Neil Hallock after a tough overtime loss. Neil made 4 saves on point blank shots and also came out on a number of occasions to scoop up through balls and crosses.
The Saints will travel to Windham on Friday for the first of 10 away games this season.
The Bus leaves at 1:45pm
