St. Thomas vs Milford
October 2, 2012

The Saints hosted the Spartans of Milford.

Coming off a great win against Hollis Brookline the players were looking keep the season rolling on the positive.

The Saints took the field with Bryan King as Striker.  The Midfield was Evan Surprenant, Jon Nartiff, TJ Tetreault Xavier Quinn and Eric Eames.  The Defense was Noah Schwaegerle, Sebastian Olsen, Brian Ellis and Aaron DuboisBen Mardin was in goal.

St. Thomas came out controlling the ball and moving it well.  Everything was going good except the final shots.  They were either being saved by the Milford Keeper or going just wide or high.

Simon Smith went in at outside midfield to help the Saints keep pressing the offensive.  John Sweeney and Guy Kassas went in at defense to help keep the Spartans off their attack.

24:11 saw Nartiff send a cross pass to Eames who put it by the Milford keeper to get St. Thomas on the board.  It was Eames's third varsity goal and the second time in consecutive games that the two had paired up successfully.

Scott Lamoureux and Tony Kassas saw time in the back four defending against the Spartans.

Beau Patteson, Jared Ham and Noah Guilfuchi also added fresh legs to the Saints offense.

St. Thomas put 4 shots on net in the first half, but the defense had not allowed Milford a single shot on frame.

Halftime found the Saints up 1-0 with lots of unfinished attempts.  The Spartan Keeper had four great saves.

St. Thomas went out in the second half with the goal of adding to the score.

The Saints took the kick off down the field and just missed a goal.  Surprenant just a half a step behind the pass was tasting it.

At 45:08 Nartiff sent a head flick over the Spartan back four to give Bryan King a running start.  King converted to put St. Thomas up 2-0.

51:14 saw some slick passing through the midfield and King getting a cross pass to Evan Surprenant.  This time he was there to bury it in the back of the net.
