Also notice about NH OPD - (Link to Form)
Hello Coach Scott
My name is Jeffrey Cousineau and I am the Director of Coaching for NH Soccer Association's Olympic Development Program. As you may know, ODP is an training and identification program for elite soccer players. NH ODP has two key objectives, train and improve NH competitive soccer players and to identify the elite NH soccer players and showcase them to the USYS Region 1 and USSF National Coaching Staffs for possible selection to the regional and national soccer teams.
The Olympic Development Program is the original identification program for US Soccer. While it true that US Soccer has created the US Development Academy as an alternate training and identification process, USDA doe not allow the players to participate in their high school program. (At this time, the USDA is only for male players, but it is likely that in the near future there will be a female program started.) The USDA is a very good program, but it is not for every player. The best identification and training program for most NH players is ODP. ODP is the only idenfication program that sucessfully combines the high school and the club/spring soccer experiences.
NH ODP season runs from winter to summer and consists of training, friendly matches with other state ODP teams, a regional ODP tournament and finally the Regional Identification Soccer Camps in July. The training during the season is headed up by the NH ODP staff. Everyone on the staff is an accomplished coach with USSF licensing. The NH ODP coaching staff includes high school and college coaches from throughout NH.
As the DOC for NH ODP, I am charged with finding NH's top players. I am contacting you today to help me spread the word about NH ODP to your players. More specifically, I am asking you to encourage your elite players to tryout for NH ODP.
The first step in the ODP season begins with open tryouts for high school aged players. ODP groups players in birth years, so tryouts on Sunday (9/16) are for players, male and female, born in years 1996, 1997 and 1998. Generally speaking, this translates into freshmen to juniors.
Tryouts will be conducted on Sunday, 9/16, at Northeast Athletic Club fields, in Pembroke NH. Registration is at 12 noon and the session will run from 1 - 3 pm. Players are asked to come dressed to play, including shinguards, and bring water and a ball.
I am asking that you distribute (photocopy or email) the attached a flyer to your elite players. You and your players can find more information about NH ODP at www.soccerhn.org. If you should have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email or at 603 232-2314.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in spreading the word about NH ODP and helping to improve the quality of soccer in NH.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Cousineau

2012 Season Outlook - Varsity Team Schedule
This season will see many changes in NH Division 2 soccer. Hanover and Bedford
have moved up to Division 1. Sanborn Regional and Bishop Brady have moved down
to Division 3. There are now 18 teams in Division 2 instead of 25. This will
see a change from 16 teams making the play-offs to only 14 teams. The First and
Second seed will get a
bye.
We start the season on Friday 8/24 at rival Oyster River. The Saints ended
the 2011 regular season with a come from behind tie at Oyster River. On
Tuesday 8/28 we travel to Lebanon who we didn't play last year. We beat
Lebanon in our last meeting in the 2009 Quarter finals of the play-offs.
On Friday 8/31 the Saints host Windham in our home opener.
The Jaguars knocked us out of the playoffs last season. Then the Saints go
on the road to Hollis Brookline who we lost to in overtime last season. St.
Thomas hosts a string of Home Games Portsmouth, Coe Brown, Con Val, and Oyster
River. Last season saw us take both games from Portsmouth, Split with Coe
Brown and we haven't played ConVal since beating them in the 2008 semi finals in
Stellos Stadium in Nashua.
We then travel to Pembroke Academy who we haven't played in the last 3 seasons.
We host Milford who we last defeated in the 2008 first round play-off game.
We travel to Souhegan who we haven't played since 2009 where we beat them
at home 2-1. We then host Goffstown who we have never played before. The
Saints then travel to Portsmouth and Trinity.
St. Thomas then hosts Hollis Brookine for a second regular season game.
For our final game we travel to Plymouth Regional who we haven't played since
the 2007 playoffs where we defeated them in the first round. It will be a
very tough season this year as there are no weak teams in the Division this
year.
